Teaching Bagpipes via the internet is no longer a new concept. I have been teaching over Skype since 2010, and have found it to be the equal of face to face tuition in almost every case.
All you need is a good internet connection, webcam and mike, and a practice chanter.
Advantages: No travel costs. To either of us.
Complete one on one tuition, no classroom distractions - I even lock the dog out.
If you need help with a maintenance problem, I talk you through it, and before you know it, - you’ve done it yourself, and know how to do it again.
Flexibility in booking. I’m generally here anyway. I can also easily skype from cafes, trains, just about anywhere.
No bad weather cancellations. In fact bad weather is good. Snowed in? Why not have a Skype lesson?
I work from whatever book you are using.
Time Differences don’t cause a problem. I’m in BST (British Summer Time) March - October, and GMT (Greenwich Mean Time) October - March.
I have Pupils in every continent. I even get up at 05.30 to teach a gentleman in New Zealand.
